A prize recruit sums it all up

"You don't want to go where they ain't pretty."

-- Marcus Lattimore of Byrnes High in Duncan, S.C., referring to the influence of Tennessee's recruiting hostesses. The NCAA is investigating UT about it; full N.Y. Times story here. (Meanwhile, the Spartanburg Herald-Journal says the running back has narrowed his choices to South Carolina, Auburn, Penn State, Oregon and Georgia; story here.)

Funny how this story gets up here a few hours after it breaks and the story regarding Auburn's violation from a week ago hasn't ever been mentioned.

Not sure if we are speaking of the same Auburn violation, but...Why have the Expats not mentioned how several Auburn players were charged with assualt early in the year and not suspended by the Coach and allowed to play all year. They beat some kid really bad and yet the story was surpressed. The Observer lets the Expats anti-UT agenda go unchecked. Its not hard to did up dirt on any SEC team, but these guys focus on UT

These hostesses are legendary on UT message boards? Well for years I have daily visited VolChat, Outer MonVolia, Volunteer Online and VolNation and I have only seen one little post (last year concerning rb Bryce Brown)on these "hostesses" until today. I would not say that is legendary.

I guess they want to get out of N.C. since the women are ugly and much better looking in Tennessee. I don't blame him!

It will all amount to nothing and then the EXPATS will have to find another way to fuel their Vols obsession.......The Vols are on their way back and some schools are getting scared.

I'm on the Vol boards as well and would not call them "legendary"....Besides all schools have students who support the program and show up at H.S. gmaes of recruits. Even the quotes in the story lead one to believe there is nothing to it.

Anon UT: We're receiving treatment for our Volunteer obsession. We suggest you seek similar help for your coach, just as soon as you're able to narrow down his list of emotional ailments.

Hmmmm. EXPAT hostesses.

Yeah, Kiffin was roundly criticized for saying Saban was a better coach than Meyer. Look how he was proven wrong about that Saturday night.

UT-obsessed? What are you smoking? This blog has been dominated by 2 UGA guys, a 'Bama guy and an Auburn guy. We only mention UT when the coach rams his foot down his throat (a regular occurrence) or when some of the players half-attempt to rob someone and use a Prius as a getaway car.

You obviously didn't visit this blog when UT played Florida or 'Bama. We offered a good deal of praise for their defense in both those games.
