A simple question for our SEC brethren . . .

Who will you be pulling for in the championship game, and why?

I've been very uncertain on this and even did a little pro and con analysis. The only reason I could come up with to root for AU was they represent the SEC. I recently spent a great week's vacation in Oregon. Every time I go to Auburn, Opelika or Columbus, GA I get depressed. If AU wins I'll have the consolation of the SEC winning its 5th national championship in a row which I would love to see. However .... Go Ducks!

That's a tough one. And I have to say at the outset that we all risk entry into a glass house world when it comes to making comments about a rival team, but I may not know who I am pulling for until I watch the game. Oregon intrigues me, because I have only seen a highlight or two, while I have seen this Auburn team and their amazing quarterback mount comeback after comeback and score points in bunches. When Auburn and Virginia Tech played in 2005, I was for Auburn, primarily because I liked the way they went about their business. They were tough, solid, and resolute. You could say the same thing about this year's Tigers, but I can't help but keep sniffing the air for the scent of a smoking gun on the Cam Newton thing. I may still be sniffing on Monday night in my own glass house, but I'll tip my hat to the Tigers if they beat the Ducks.

With Auburn being in the Western Div, its easy for this Georgia fan to pull for them. If it were Fl, Tn, or SC, I couldnt pull for them..but would be happy for the SEC if they won.

To anyone on the fence... Consider the venom that has been spewed toward Cam Newton, vs the barely-noticable criticsm to the money grabs by players at Georgia and TOSU. Consider how unprofessional the national media has been in openly rooting for Oregon the past 4 weeks. Consider the Ducks players making their claims of dirty play days before the game is played. And once again, consider that it really is possible for a man to be a man of integrity in spite of having a complete slug for a father.

I'll admit I wasn't openly rooting for 'Bama last year, but I never, for a single second, expected anything other than a 'Bama championship from about mid-October forward. I'm hoping at least the Crimson Elephants will at least have that feeling of resignation this year.

J, good luck tonight.

But what has Alabama have to do with any of this? Enjoy your night. Your team has earned it. I can tell you I didn't give Auburn a lick of my time last year from the Iron Bowl on.

Resignation? First things first, my AU bud: I haven't decided who I'm pulling for yet.
