Kiffin gets dumber by the day.
There are several problems with this.
1) EVERY middle school athlete thinks he can play pro ball. He'll look pretty silly for committing to USC and then gets to high school and ends up being the backup QB.
2) Like MG said the other day, "It depends on what your definition of "committment" is." When he was in 8th grade, Chris Leak committed to Wake Forest.
3) Will Lane be there? What happens if USC wants to give Pete Carroll his old job back in 2 years after he goes 7-25 in Seattle and decides he wants to go back to school?
In other words, don't make too much of it.
