From HeismanPundit.com, which surveys a few voters every week:
1. Mark Ingram, Alabama
2. Jimmy Clausen, Notre Dame
3. Colt McCoy, Texas
4. Tim Tebow, Florida
5. Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska
And from the ESPN crew:
1. Ingram
2. Clausen
3. Tebow
4. McCoy
5. Kellen Moore, Boise State
That brings us to today's just-for-the-sake-of-argument posting.
The SEC title game is December 5. The Heisman is awarded a week later.
Let's say Florida and Alabama play for the championship. If the Heisman is hanging in the balance, and given the quality of the defenses, who would be more likely to put on a show-stopping performance, Ingram or Tebow?
I say Tebow, but only because what happens with Ingram very much depends on how well Tide QB Greg McElroy is playing that day.
What say you?

What say I? That this award ought to be done away with. It is NOT, repeat, NOT, an award given to the best college football player. It is an award given to the best QB, RB or WR in Division I-A. It's as much a predictor of failure in the NFL as it is success. And don't even bother with the "you're just mad cuz Auburn never has a player in the running" or anything like that. I stopped caring about the award when Danny Woeful won it.
But if you want a pick, I'll go with Clausen, because of the man crush every member of the national media has on any star player that plays for Notre Dame - especially Brent Musburger. Remember when he used to crow about how Ron Pawlus was going to win 3 Heismans at ND?
Speaking of Heismans, just saw a great joke on a friend's Facebook page:
BREAKING NEWS: Obama wins Heisman Trophy after watching a college football game!
