Calling all Vols . . .

Just saw the Mr. Crompton make his most significant contribution to his team -- that would be drawing a 15-yard penalty on his scramble.

Monte's kids are doing their part. But Lane's offense is struggling -- and will continue to do so -- until he has a quarterback who can play somewhere above dead.

Vol fans. How do you see it?

Feel bad for the UCLA kid who got his teeth knocked out, but good game. Now it's time for a little war eagle action!

It was pretty ugly. Too bad that there's already so many posters over at knoxnews.com screaming for J. Crompton's head. Maybe Kiffin's wake up call: Don't think he'll be mouthing off towards Gainesville this coming week. (Hope not!) The Gators are gonna bury us.

Crompton has got to be the worst UT QB I can remember watching.

The UT football program always depended on a quarterbacking. Crompton is the worst in many years. I feel for Kiffin, because Compton is going cause him to age 10 years. Next week hopefully see more of Stephens.

Phil could have done as poorly today. Crompton was a looser last year and Kiffin gives him the starters job? Obviously Lane is not the football genius everyone was thinking he is.

Crompton sucked last year, and he sucks this year. I liked Kiffin's play calling, though. It's tough to win when your QB throws 3 INTs.

I wouldn't say Crompton's the worst QB UT's ever had. Casey Claussen wins that one, IMO.

Tennessee...world's ugliest uniform. Nice puke orange! I loved watching Tom Brady beat up on Peyton Manning over the years. They're both great QBs...only difference is Brady doesn't throw his linemen under the bus on national TV when things go wrong.

Crompton can't be that bad. After all, UNC's former coach, Bunting really recruited Crompton hard---eventually losing out to UT--and everybody knows what a great recruiter and judge of talent Coach Buntcakes was.----maybe even a better recruiter than he is a reporter on Sports South. Doc Walker watch out!

Given the distribution of talent across the country, I don't think it's possible to have a successful team without a QB who can make winning plays, not just manage the game. That's certainly true against the better teams.

We saw two freshmen -- Forcier at Ann Arbor and Barkley at SC -- show just how big an impact the position can and should have. Amazing performances by a couple of kids.

Garcia won the game against Georgia about four times, despite the ridiculous number of mistakes and penalties by his teammates.

UT won't be back among the elites until it has another killer behind center.

kontan - don't you think you should try to live through the Florida game before you start woofing at us? Granted, La Tech and Misipi St ain't the stiffest competition in the world, but you have to admit we look far better than at any time last year. We'll see where we both stand after your Florida game and our West Virginia game.

BTW, where is Tomlinson? I want to hear him say something about his prediction we would lose to Misipi St 4-3.

J, I admit, I didn't see your game, but wow... 49 points. That's 23 safeties and a field goal, right?
