Why Kiffin should watch from home this week

Words have weight. Therefore, they have consequences. Kevin Scarbinsky of the Birmingham News takes it from there. (By the way, before you dismiss his arguments as Bama homerism, be apprised that at least 75 percent of the posters in my favorite chat room despise his column.)

Nice, unbiased post from the Rammer Jammer Moron Hammer writer. I think Kiffin had a point when he mentioned that UT was the 2nd or 3rd least penalized team in the country before last week. I don't mind any of these coaches calling out the officiating. It's bad.

Kiffin's comment quoted in the article is “I’m sure we’ll get one of those letters that mean nothing, that Bobby (Petrino) got last week, but Florida and Alabama live on.” I don't quite know what he means by "one of those letters" that "Florida and Alabama live on." Scarbinsky and Saban seem to think Kiffin is saying there's a conspiracy by referees to favor FL and Bama on calls. If that's what he's saying then (1) either Kiffin needs to be reprimanded big time or (2)if Kiffin is right then we have a major and unprecedented problem in the SEC which threatens the integrity of the games themselves. Until now it hasn't entered my mind that the officials could be crooked, I just thought (and still think) that they're doing a poor job of officiating this year.

One other comment: I have heard it mentioned several times this year that a team getting penalized more than other teams is a sign of referee bias. I don't believe that for a minute. Georgia has been one of the most penalized teams in the SEC the past 2 years. My assumption is it's a Georgia team problem, not an indication of referee bias against us.

"It wasn’t just that Kiffin was as dead-wrong about the penalty he thought Terrence Cody should’ve gotten for removing his helmet".

Wrong. There should have been a penalty, no doubt about that. Whether the penalty would have resulted in a rekick is a differrent matter.

You can't be serious. Whether or not a newspaper article is homerism is determined by the opinion of the article writer in a chat room????????

That is dumb even by 'Bama standards, which is pretty bad. Absolutely everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, uttered by a business of any description in the city of Birmingham is 'Bama homerism. If you stand at the edge of Birmingham and spit, the spit will land in Tuscaloosa. The entire city is clothed in crimson (except on the UAB campus, where they are allowed to wear UAB's green & gold). OF COURSE THE WRITER IS A 'BAMA HOMER! The fact that he is a very poor writer is icing on the cake. (And if you accuse me of Auburn homerism by saying he's a poor writer, you're very likely right.)

Lane is full of sour grapes and is a crybaby. That is no reason to suspend him.

Kiffin has the SEC Expats team writing about him everyday. You guys are coming off looking like scared biased alumni while he is standing up for his team and players, plus scoring big points by keep UT in the news. UT fans love it and so do recruits. Luc will be making his 2nd visit to UT this week...any Expats "bloggers" follow recruiting? When Kiffin rebuilds the talent level in Rocky Top.....we will all be singing Rocky Top all night long!

If these were such heinous things for Kiffin to say, why did it take until Tuesday for all the media outrage? He made this comments on Saturday and Sunday. Maybe there are a lot of lazy sportswriters who after reading Slive's public reprimand of Kiffin on Monday decided to suddenly get outraged and write a "hard hitting" editorial.

J, this is a letter of thanks.

For a while there we had creepily similar points of view on a range of topics. Happily, the natural order has been restored: Dogs and cats are again in separate bedrooms. I'm always right and you're always wrong.

Roll Tide and War Eagle.

Luc would be a big one. I wonder if you've found your QB yet.

Long way to signing day, of course. And I guess it will be a long time before LK begins acting like an adult. Tough loss aside, his comments after the game were incredibly immature. Kids may love them. Wonder if his bosses do?

Tyler Bray, will be the QB, He is a 4* kid from California, a little on the skinny side, but may have more potential then any Qb in the class. He is quickly gaining the attention of scouts. Luc would be a plus to any programe. Indeed it is a long way to signing day, but the same goes for every school. UT may lose some, but so will Bama, FL and anyone else.

Before you worry about Kiffin and his boss, lets talk about what the NCAA thinks of the tide....

The NCAA Committee on Infractions called the University of Alabama a"serial repeat violator" with an "abysmal infractions track record" and an "extensive recent history of infractions cases unmatched by any other member institution in the NCAA"

LOL, I think you guys have your own troubles to worry about.

IF Kiffin should watch from home Alabam should recieve the NCAA Death Penalty.

I don't thin Bama has any room to talk about Kiffin being repremanded by Slime when they are on probation from the NCAA. Once a cheater, always a cheater.

WHATEVER! I'll just go find a bunch of War Eagles in a chat room who think you are wrong, and then you will be wrong! (Just using your logic.)

Anon 10/27 3:59 - Before you start squaking about recruiting, remember that Crompton was a 5-star, one-of-the-best-of-all-time, all-everything-whatever-cute-term-they-are-using-now player out of high school. As Dr. Phil would say, "How's that workin' for ya?"
